Hey Mouthy, sorry I already posted on http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/153173/1.ashx
I think Jehovah, Jesus, the angels, and the resurrected 144,000 could do better than 2.25%...
...maybe they should enlist some talking snakes - "Read thesssse magazzzzinesssss and you'll be forever young. Yesssssss"

You would think that with the backing of Jehovah, Jesus, the angels, and the resurrected 144,000, they could do better than 2.25%. You'd think they'd get some rocks crying out and produce at least 25% per year.
After all, the overall US population probably increased by, I'm guessing, 4%. Consequently, the increase of 2.25% would really amount to a decrease in the population ratio. Fewer saved, more condemned, way to go.
Another problem here locally, is that the new ones that have been showing up are seriously unstable individuals or otherwise bring a lot of wacky baggage. It's sad when you have 'newly interested students' that you wish would ask to stop studying.
Finally, I think WTBTS has been playing with the numbers. Irregular publishers that used to be counted only the months they actually report, are now included in the total count even if they don't report for 6 months. That would slightly inflate the publisher count for about a year, but wouldn't increase hours or placements.
It will be interesting to see what next year's report brings... unless Armageddon comes before next year !!!!!....
...which, as usual, it won't.

Our congregation's numbers are down. Yippie-kay-yay!
by outofthebox inso, we had the co visit and he told us what undeserving we are.
compared with his last visit, all our numbers are down: less publishers, less hours, less studies, less magazines, less meeting attendance, less baptisms.
then he proceeded to show us how a simple kid and a grandma that can't even read or write do more than us.

Ever since the COs and DOs started attending the Travelling Overseer School at Patterson, they've been super hypocritical. They'll wag their fingers condemning the materialistic, spiritually lax publishers. Meanwhile, they themselves spend less and less time in any real ministry work either door-to-door, shepherding, or otherwise 'rolling up their sleeves' to help any congregation or publisher in any practical way. Additionally, they get free cars, free housing, an allowance from the bOrg, and everything else the congregation and circuit has to pay for. And pay more all the time. Plus, many of them get free vacations when the International Conventions come around.
With such delusions of grandeur come eventual humiliation. I'm plotting...

Excellent ! Mary Rocks ! You made a sucky article outstandingly understandable. I'd like to comment on para.19:
The preaching of the good news is the most important work being done on earth today. (Rev. 14:6, 7) It contributes to the sanctification of Jehovah's name. (Matt. 6:9)
(Revelation 14:6-7) 6 And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, and he had everlasting good news to declare as glad tidings to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people, 7 saying in a loud voice: "FEAR God and give him glory, because the hour of the judgment by him has arrived, and so worship the One who made the heaven and the earth and sea and fountains of waters."
ATTENTION ANGELS !!! Get off your lazy asses and start declaring !
(Matthew 6:9) . . ."‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.
Marginal reference: (Ezekiel 38:23) And I shall certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah.’ATTENTION JEHOVAH !!! Get off your lazy ass and sanctify your own self like you said you would !
Who is supposed to get excited about a bunch of poor uneducated janitors that have 'their own Bible' and slavishly follow some book company in Brooklyn led by men who can't prophecy, heal, or perform any function beyond browbeating a brainwashed cult? The Rank & File need to "Keep Watching the Ministry"? Looks like the whole thing needs to be scrapped until the real messiah appears.

Watchtower Question from readers= Slams hunting??? Why???
by Witness 007 ineven though the bible does not condemn hunting watch them push their personal opinion and trun it into watchtower law.. watchtower dec 1 2007 p.31 "how should christians view hunting?
} "the bible does not condemn hunting or fishing.." {great leave it there..no need to push personal thoughts on brothers, right?
} ".....the apostles who were fisherman were likely gratified by a good catch.

the thrill of ... the kill.
Why shouldn't Jehovah's servants enjoy slaughtering animals? Jehovah loves massive animal slaughters !
(1 Kings 8:63) 63 And Sol´o·mon proceeded to offer the communion sacrifices that he had to offer to Jehovah, twenty-two thousand cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep, that the king and all the sons of Israel might inaugurate the house of Jehovah.
Every Kingdom Hall dedication today should include the killing of at least a few deer and some fish... right?

Big time watchtower art dept. jest
by cultswatter inlook at the following nonsense.
look at this link http://www.word-sunday.com/files/b/passion-b/a-passion2-b.html.
mark stated the crucifixion almost as an aside, since his audience already knew the fate of jesus, and since the methods of crucifixion were well known at the time.

Strange picture indeed. When I first got my copy, I assumed it was removing the dead body, but where is the blood?
Why would a soldier be under him like that? Wouldn't he be risking injury to himself and get covered with blood? I would have assumed that they would either chop down the pole, or just let the dead body fall? After all, it was a brutal execution, why sudden loving care?
If that's supposed to be Mary looking on, what mother could watch her son be ripped from the stake like that and dropped to the ground?
Why does that shroud look like a semi-transparent sheer fabric? Did they have nylon in Jesus' day?

IMPORTANT: Elders Mtg at Patterson
by confusa ina witness just informed me about a couple that we know who had their assembly recently, and it was announced at the private elder's meeting that there will be a special meeting with all the elders in the us in patterson.
it was mentioned that we are now living "in the end of end of times" and that the un is talking about prohibiting religions.
has anyone heard of this??

Welcome Confusa and Pickled !
I just think that the gov and not necessarily the UN is focusing on religions for all the child molestation going on and since the economy is not doing all that well they are looking into religion organizations to pay taxes to better the economy as much as possible.
The WTBTS would of course be complaining about these issues. As SilentLambs has shed light on the Society's paying off millions to silence their own molestation victims, and no doubt much more of their money will be spent on that. On the subject of taxing, there is the case in France, as well as other countries that already restrict the financial freedom of the Society and other religious organizations.
It will be interesting to find out what is on the agenda at the Elders' School at Patterson. They already had the Branch Overseers' and Traveling Overseers' Schools there for many years now. In my opinion, the previous schools only taught the students how to better toe the FDS line, and how to be more arrogant toward the R&F.

Issue Number 2.... Incorrect Predictions.
by hotchocolate inokay, just to re-introduce myself, i was raised in the truth, regular pioneered for years, and am a member in good standing with my congregation.
i have just recently been shocked to realise that i actually have some doubts about the truth.
it helps for me to focus on one point at a time, and to write down my thoughts in a logical sequence.

The Keep on the Watch! brochure was a steaming pile of poo.
Oh no, they aren't false prophets, they're doing us all a favor by keeping us in 'anticipation'. From p.14, " If the end of this old system is already later than you expected..." hold on, it's not the reader that's made up decades of false expectations. As clearly established in your thread, it's the WTBTS that's making the empty promises and demanding that the R&F live with a false hope.
Clearly, if they didn't keep coming up with a steady stream of false prophecy loaded with sticks and carrots, what is left to keep any members attending and out trying to recruit new members?

The kingdom halls where are they headed?
by moomanchu inwhat is happening to the kingdom halls?
where you live, are they declining or prospering?
you may hear claims of revival, and reports of swelling congregations occasionally come from such places as africa, eastern europe, and the united states.

The local congo here is doing okay. That's because we have quite a few that are attending here, but live outside of the territory. Serious problems in neighboring Halls.
In this circuit in past two years, two congregations disbanded, two were combined into one. Many are shrinking. Of the new ones that do come in, they tend to be troubled, unstable individuals.
